Robert Altman.

Robert Altman was the director I have chosen to watch and to write a response to his movies, the company, long goodbye and the player. Robert was American film directors know for his. Seeing through his eyes on these diversity stories that show the rich power of his stylized perspective. His films has deep dialogues which he builds his images on.with the strong connection with the characters relationships.
Through out the movie, I realized that subtlety was the key. In the dance moves, how soft and smooth their bodies were, the transformations of each scenes. The director picked up one key from the dance and linked that to the over all theme of the movie. Brilliant choice. When people are wondering how long the boring modern dance movie is going to end, the director introduced the main male character. The way he was introduced and later on his relationship with the lead girl was just so smooth, and pulled the audience's interests.
The movie is in a way like a staged modern dance performance. The use of lighting, even when the scenes were located of stage, the director still used the stage lighting on each main character, to connect the scenes but more importantly to remain the audience that even dairy life can also be beautifully staged. Example, when the main male met the girl, his smile was the key, which is the same usage on stage, the dancers emotions plays a big part of delivering the ideas.
The movie started slow, just like modern dance. Slowly built up to a climax. And there were few turning points in the movie, which is exactly what modern dance is all about. The appearance of James Franco, was a main turning point of the movie, the movie started to appear more connected and focused, but most importantly, humorously. The relationship of the two added the color to the movie.
Another brilliant scene was when the woman snaps her tendon on stage. There was no yelling or distortion on stage, but the director carefully pull us in to the action, and made us care about her, because for a while, during the silent waiting, the director made us wonder if the girl was okay. And later on when she was removed off stage, the camera was focused on her leaving, and the director placed one of her teammate wiping a tear away to show the emotion part, how her teammates cars about her.
The player is a 1992 satirical film. This is a different approach with movie references and a tone that has a humorous feel. Altman gets the cutting edge on the mismatched angle shoots. Griffin Mill is the main character that is a Hollywood producer that hears pitches from all kinds of screenwriters. On the movie set Altman sets the scene telling mills life’s job (producer), maybe in his eyes. This movie turns when Griffin Mill receives postcards saying,” in the name of all writers I’m going to KILL YOU!” Finding out that it was sent from David Kahane. There is intense aggression towards David. They ended up fighting in an alley and mills kills David making it look like robbery gone wrong. This dramatic action was well viewed with the lighting in this shoot.
In haze of the death Mill is affecting. Mill now wants to take the writers of the project of the screenplay. With the evident that mill’s boss found and tries to get Mill to confess. This movie becomes into a blackmail feast. When the police interviews Mill. They mock him and tries to corner him. Making his life feel like a dream. Trying to evaded his home he goes to Mexico with June. Soon to be call for a lineup, the witness picks the wrong guy. Making Griffin Mil a free man.1year later a man presents a movie pitch involving a studio executive who kills a writer and gets away which is named “the player”.
The long goodbye is a 1973 American contemporary film. This is a well shoot movie that has a nice impression of smoothness played off of the main character Philip Marlowe (Elliott Gould). One late night Terry Lennox, one of Philips friends, stops by asking for a ride to Tijuana. The next day cops stop by asking questions about Terry. Taking him downtown for suspicion. With the smart words from Phillip he soon finds out that his friend killed his wife. Spending 3 days in jail Philip is released then finds out that Terry Lennox is dead. Not believing that terry killed his wife and then takes his own life. The gangster Marty Augustine, who wants the money that Terry owed him, pursues Marlowe. Threatening Marlowe’s life gets the money he travels to Mexico to find out the truth on what happen to his long-term friend. Robert Altman has his way on making films can see that there are a lot more dialogue the action in his film.  It was an all right in the beginning but soon I loss interest in it.
Robert Altman has been nominated for five Oscar for best Director but no wins. This experimental director has a great style that you can somewhat see throughout his films.

Fearing In Las Vegas..notes

Fearing and loathing in Las Vegas written by Hunter S. Thompson. This later adapted into a 1998 film directed by terry Gilliam. When reading this screenplay I was confused on what was real and that was a figment of the character imagination. The plot of this is about a journalist Raoul Duke and his attorney Dr.Gonzo. It is unreal on how much drugs that they use. They are on their way to Las Vegas to report on the mint 400, witch was a motorcycle race in the desert. Soon to do more drugs they begin to experiment with heavy drugs like cocaine, ether, LSD, and weed. During the crazy hallucinogenic trips they end up destroying the hotel rooms wrecking their car while seen humans as reptiles while trying to survive in the city of Las Vegas.
This was one of the most bazaar scripts I have ever read.
The main character:
Duke: is a sport journalist who can truly write objectively instead of talking about it. with a perpetual state of intoxication on whatever drugs happen to be available. With his sever addiction to the choice of his drug. His character should film in a way that Duke is slipping through time. Setting the tone with a shot of duke and gonzo tripping on their drugs in the middle of the desert. Being so unstable they try to make the best of the situation. Dialogue is an important in trying to convey the hallucinations as a trip. Distorting imagines and human like reptiles should be apart of the tone. He is an outlaw that is breaking the la but it reads acceptable.
Gonzo: the attorney. This Samoan is know for his party binges. He is helping fueling the addiction of drugs and is Dukes go to guy. He should have a role in this while they are tripping. Losing his cool and soon begins to freak out on us. Gonzo has strong anxiety and panics very easily. Losing his cool and try’s to kill himself. Gonzo should be passive and
Notes: Tone and subject
Actors should conceder looking out side of the box. Acting like if they were on drugs however they should control the language to allow the digital graphics to pop. This is an important part. Planning around out scenes with the aid of CGI making the hallucinations more intense. This will make it more believable.

Is it right or wrong

Lolita is a book that was published in 1958 by vladimir nabokov.this novel was written about a 12 year old girl named Dolores haze (aka lolita) and professor Humbert that was in love with her. with is innovating style and infamous for its controversial subject, this book soon became into a best seller and eventually to turn into 2 movies.what a book to catch the attention of the public that stroke a cord on basic morality.
With a subject that make  us wonder if its right or wrong.with its well  written words of vladimir  he uses word play and irony to justify Humert actions.
The main character writes this story from jail with a tone ready to defend himself to the "jury".humbert begs the reader to understand that he is not proud of his sexual relationship with Lolita, but is filled with remorse.you can not face the facts that having a union with a minor is illegal and is not condoned.what if Lolita seduced Professor Humbert.with flirtation that she was giving off were the downfall for Humber. he was stunned at first glimpse ,with his writings and poetry about Lolita this wasn't subduction it was lust for a child.lolita was not any old child she had sexually relations before humbert.this is where vladimir word play comes together. is it right if Lolita was fine on how thing were?
Lolita was mature for her age due to her urges for sex.was it all Humbert fault in this fucked up story? Lolita was a lotted gun that did what she wanted.was there love in this relationship? i don't think Lolita was on the same page due to the death of her mother.
Humbert obsesion soon leads to insanity. through out the book humbert does loses his temper with lolita accusing her for cheating with other boy.however lolita holds over his head that she will turn him in.throght the eyes of humbert this is his dream marriage, never to let go of this beautiful girl lolita.
This book attract our attention due to the odd nature.this book has been translated into all languages around the world and really has turned into an iconic book.
